Painter and engraver, Jose Meseguer was dedicated mainly to the miniature, he was an outstanding painter of fans and a notable engraver. As a miniaturist he dedicated himself to the reproduction of famous paintings, such as Fortuny's "The Vicarage" and Fragonard's "The Swing", although he mainly dealt with his own original themes. He held exhibitions of his miniatures in various Spanish cities, including Barcelona, where he showed his work at the Sala Gaspar. In 1940 his miniatures were part of an important group exhibition held in the halls of the Press Association of Madrid, where works by Vázquez Díaz, Segrelles, Bertuchi and others were also shown. Meseguer began his career in Benimàmet, finally residing in the avenue that bears his name since 1949 (avenida del Miniaturista Meseguer). At the beginning of his career he painted exclusively fans, but ended up specializing in painting miniature landscapes, for which he would end up being known. In 1948, the Comissió de la Falla de Benimámet Felipe-Valls Campamento won the prize for the "ninot" pardoned, for a "ninot" representing the painter Meseguer, which is currently preserved in the Museo Fallero.
