Very little is known of this discreet Valencian painter and draftsman, son of the janitor of the Academy of San Carlos, in which he studied, obtaining in 1781, 1783 and 1786 the prizes corresponding to the 3rd, 2nd and 1st classes. That year of 1786 he moved to Madrid, entering the Academy of San Fernando, obtaining in 1790 a second prize and being finally named academician of merit in 1795, giving for his reception a canvas of the "Prudent Abigail" that still conserves the academy, the same as the one that won him the prize of 1790. He also made several drawings for engraving as illustrations for scientific books, and when he returned to Valencia, he painted for the academy and the Episcopal palace. In 1823 he was appointed professor of the academy, of which he was already an outstanding member.
