Painter specialized in the navy, Benito Lleonart developed his career during the last third of the XIX century, showing his work for the last time in 1890. He was a disciple of Juan Peyró, and also tackled the interior landscape, although the coastal and maritime were his real specialty. He lived in Valencia, Bilbao and Madrid, and participated in some Regional and National Exhibitions, being distinguished on two occasions: with consideration of third medal in 1887 and third medal in 1890. The sources place him a year later, in 1891, in the city of Torrevieja, where he painted some landscapes and seascapes. One of these works, painted on kid skin to form a fan country, was a gift for the wife of the Count of Roche.
