DESCRIPTION
MIGUEL PARRA ABRIL (Valencia, 1780 - Madrid, 1846).
"Still life of lobster and fish".
Oil on canvas.
Signed in the lower right corner.
Measurements: 63 x 47 cm; 83 x 67 cm (frame).
He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia. In 1803 he was named academician of merit of this academy for the painting of flowers and in 1811 for the historical painting. After failing in his pretension to succeed Benito Espinós in the direction of the Estudio de Flores he moved to Madrid, where on December 29, 1814 he obtained the appointment of painter of chamber in reward for the canvas dedicated to the Passage of the river Fluvià by Fernando VII in his return to Spain (National Patrimony).
