The painter Francesc Rosselló i Miralles specialized mainly in rural landscapes, marinas, patios and gardens of Majorca, with a painting of sober, intimate and luminous character influenced initially by the academic naturalism of his teacher Joan Mestre Bosch and, later, by symbolist and modernist currents; although his production was not very extensive, he combined the artistic creation with the teaching and is considered an outstanding figure of the Majorcan painting of the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century.
