The work clearly shows the seal of Casanova-Zapata. In spite of being a figurative scene with two characters, the forms are treated with a freedom that borders on informalism. The palette is warm and enveloping, dominated by a yellow and ochre background that contrasts with the intense reds and dark touches of the clothing. There is a tendency to monochrome or the use of very controlled ranges, something common in his production.
Painter and lithographer, Esteve Casanova-Zapata develops a language halfway between abstraction and figuration, of informalist filiation and a palette tending towards monochrome. Throughout his career he has held exhibitions in Spain and abroad, with special mention of the group exhibition held in 1993 at the Marugame Hirai Museum in Japan. He has also held personal exhibitions in galleries such as Tres d'Oros in Palma de Mallorca (1992) and Anna Benach in Barcelona (1996).
