This painting shows a wide and luminous maritime landscape, dominated by a low horizon and a very developed sky. In the foreground are dunes covered with low vegetation, modeled with rapid, directional brushstrokes. The beach descends gently towards a sea of moderate swell, worked with superimposed layers of blues, greens and whites. A wooden jetty advances diagonally towards the water, providing depth and guiding the eye towards the horizon. The sky, with voluminous clouds occupying a large part of the composition, creates a dynamic atmospheric effect. The whole conveys a sense of spaciousness, light and changing weather, close to the Central European realist and naturalist tradition of the twentieth century.
