Ginés Liébana, originally from Jaén, moved during his youth to Córdoba with his family. It was in that city where he began his artistic training, studying at the School of Arts and Crafts of Cordoba. During the 40's, he began to collaborate with several poets and artists of the city such as Pablo García Baena, or Juan Bernier. In 1947 this group published a magazine entitled Cántico, which gave rise to the name of this group of artists. Throughout his professional career he collaborated as an illustrator with more publications such as the magazines La Estafeta Literaria and El Español, among others. In the 60's he settled permanently in Madrid, after having traveled to many countries in South America and Europe. Throughout his career he has participated in numerous exhibitions, thus achieving the recognition of both the public and the critics, being awarded the Gold Medal of the Province, Medal of Andalusia. His painting is characterized by an aesthetic language of realism, in which you can see a high symbolic load.
