Evaristo Guerra started painting at a very young age, creating a workshop in his childhood. It was not until years later when in 1956 he began to study at the school of painting in Velez Malaga, with Juan Morcillo. In 1961 he began his exhibition career, since he made his first solo exhibition, which took place in the Caja de Ahorros Provincial in Velez-Malaga. Later he moved to Madrid to begin studying at the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando. Where he stayed for a year. However, after leaving the academy he continued his self-taught training as he went to the prado as a copyist, and also worked for a while in a graphic workshop where he appreciated different techniques. During the decade of the 60's he exhibited his work on numerous occasions, especially in 1968, when he presented his work at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts. In 1970 he participated in the Biennial Blanco y Negro and two years later he was awarded the National Painting Prize for Young Artists of the II Biennial of the Magazine "Blanco y Negro". It was then when he began working with the renowned Madrid gallery Biosca. Already settled his career, the city of Madrid dedicated him a retrospective at the Centro Cultural de la Villa in 1995.
