"BCN XIII Catwalk", 1996.
Oil on canvas glued to board.
Presents on the back informative label of the Artur Ramon Gallery (Barcelona).

Pere Santilari shares with his brother Josep a deep dedication to painting, although his career has developed its own accents that reflect a unique sensitivity within the field of contemporary realism. From the beginning, Pere showed a special interest in the study of light and color as vehicles of emotion, exploring the expressive possibilities of pictorial matter without renouncing formal rigor. His technical training and his constant dialogue with the European figurative tradition have allowed him to build a solid and coherent work, in which the contemplation of the world acquires an almost metaphysical dimension.
In his production, nature, everyday objects and human figures are presented with a precise but never cold detail, revealing an inner search that transcends the merely visual. Pere Santilari understands painting as a process of discovery, where each stroke becomes a form of knowledge and each pictorial surface a space for meditation. Unlike other artists of his generation, his work is characterized by an economy of formal resources that enhances the emotional intensity of the image.
Throughout his career, he has participated in several exhibitions in galleries and cultural spaces, consolidating himself as a creator with an introspective gaze and refined language. In his paintings, light not only shapes the forms, but acts as a symbol of a constant spiritual search, of an aspiration towards aesthetic purity.
