Víctor Chab is an Argentine painter whose work transited from initial surrealism to lyrical and geometric abstraction. Trained in local workshops and in MEEBA, he explored techniques such as ink, collage and oil, combining automatism, signs and figurative forms. He was part of artistic groups such as the "Seven Abstract Painters" and the Boa Group, participating in national and international exhibitions, including the 1956 Venice Biennale. His work was characterized by the interaction between imagination and structure, evolving into emblematic series such as the Bestiaries and, in his later years, returning to the human figure from an abstract and symbolic perspective.

Throughout his career, Victor Chab participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions that marked his presence in Argentine art and in the international circuit. Among the group exhibitions, his participation in national salons since the 1960s, the anthology of Argentine surrealism organized by Aldo Pellegrini at the Di Tella Institute (1967), and international exhibitions in Lima (1968) and in Washington, headquarters of the OAS (1972) stand out. He was also part of group projects such as the "Seven Abstract Painters" and the Boa Group, which promoted abstraction and the dialogue between surrealism and modern lyricism. His solo exhibitions included early series of inks, collages and oils, as well as the later Bestiario and monoprints series, consolidating his reputation as an artist capable of combining technical, poetic and figurative exploration in diverse platforms and media.
