Francesc Suñer studied in the free academies of his native city, later completing his studies in Rome and London. He made his solo debut in 1955, at the Sala Jaimes in Barcelona, and since then held personal exhibitions in Spain as well as in Portugal, France and the United States. In 1960 he worked in France, Belgium and Holland. Suñer's compositions are presided over by vibrant hallmarks of color, as well as by the dissolution of form in dense environments and layers of pigment, within a fully expressionist style.
