Late work by Jorge Castillo in which his symbolic and narrative imaginary reappears, here resolved through schematic and floating figures on a monochrome background of great chromatic intensity. The dominant red acts as a psychological field, while the silhouettes, outlined with green contours and primary colors, evoke an inner world between the playful and the disturbing.

Jorge Castillo is an essential figure of contemporary Spanish art, linked since the sixties to the New Figuration. His work, strongly symbolic and literary, oscillates between figuration and abstraction. He is represented in important public collections such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the IVAM, the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao and various international institutions.
