Joan Capella began his studies at the Llotja School of Barcelona in the forties. The importance of his evolution as an artist resides in his various stays in Paris, stays that had a decisive influence on his creation. An artist close to the synthetic cubism of Juan Gris and the lyrical figuration of Brake's still lifes, but especially influenced by artists such as Bores, Peinado and Viñes, who formed the so-called Spanish School of Paris and with whom Joan Capella maintained a very close relationship. Member of the cultural group "Tertulia", born in 1945 in his native town. From 1970 until his death in 2005, his work is regularly exhibited in various art galleries in Catalonia and Spain, as well as in foreign cities such as Paris.
