The work presents a panoramic view of a Mediterranean town at sunset, captured from an elevated position that allows to contemplate the urban profile outlined against the sky. This approach to the landscape, focused on the effects of light and atmosphere, places the work within the tradition of post-impressionist landscape, where the subjective interpretation of color and pictorial matter acquire a leading role.

Painter trained at the School of Fine Arts in Olot. He began to participate in group exhibitions in 1932, holding his first individual exhibitions in the Barcino room in Barcelona, and in the Gaspar (1941-1942). Among his awards are Third Medal at the National Fine Arts in 1948 (Vic Market), the Prize of the Contest "Paisaje de Llavaneras" in 1950, Gold Medal Masriera in 1953, etc..
