Here, Pruna develops a highly refined pictorial language, characterized by elegant lines, chromatic harmony, and a refined composition—traits that place his work within the orbit of Noucentisme and Mediterranean painting with classical roots. The figure, stylized and with an introspective expression, reflects the artist’s interest in a serene and timeless beauty.
Pere Pruna began exhibiting at a very young age. In 1921 he moved to Paris, where he received support from Picasso and became part of the city’s intellectual circles, holding a successful exhibition at the Galerie Percier. He also worked in the field of stage design, creating sets for Diaghilev’s ballet *Les matelots* (1925).
Throughout his career, he received various awards, including second prize at the Carnegie Institute exhibition in Pittsburgh (1928) and the Nonell Prize (1936).
His work is held in the Reina Sofía Museum, the MNAC, and the Montserrat Museum, among other collections.
