The bodies appear intertwined and represented in a fragmented way, inhabiting a dreamlike space, suggesting that desire is not an isolated act, but a force that overflows limits and categories. In this visual language, the erotic becomes an enigma: rather than being shown, it is suggested, inviting the viewer to complete the scene from his own gaze, between the intimate and the disturbing.
Jorge Castillo is an essential figure of contemporary Spanish art, linked since the sixties to the New Figuration. His work, strongly symbolic and literary, oscillates between figuration and abstraction. He is represented in important public collections such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the IVAM, the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao and various international institutions.
