This is a sketch for the central panel of a mural intended for the lobby of the Ministry of Culture in Moscow. The style and subject suggest a celebration of socialist realism or a historical sports moment.
An Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Boris Talberg Alexandrovich was awarded the State Prize of the USSR and the Lenin Komsomol Prize. He studied at MIPIDI, at the faculty of monumental painting, under the tutelage of G. I. Rublev (1949-1952), and at the Leningrad Higher School of Art, named after V. I. Mukhina (1952-1953). He worked in various techniques and genres of monumental and decorative art, as well as in the field of easel painting (thematic painting, portraiture) and engraving.
