FÉLIX CUADRADO LOMAS (Valladolid, 1930-Valladolid, 2021).
Untitled.
Oil on canvas.

Measurements: 37 x 45 cm; 55 x 63 cm (frame).
Félix Cuadrado Lomas was a painter dedicated mainly to the Castilian landscape, marked since childhood by his contact with the rural world in Palencia. Trained in Valladolid, he soon developed his artistic career and in 1966 he won an important prize with Mulas y tierras, after which he decided not to compete in contests again.
A key figure of the Simancas Group, he was considered a reference for his knowledge of the pictorial tradition and his cubist style. He collaborated with prominent poets and always maintained an independent attitude, as he demonstrated when he rejected in 2017 the Castilla y León Prize for the Arts. His work remained deeply linked to the identity and essence of the Castilian landscape.
