Gemma Romero studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona, and was a student of Martínez Lozano. She held her first solo exhibition at the Poster Gallery in Reus in 1990, and since then she has had other exhibitions in Catalan galleries, such as the Valentí in Barcelona, and abroad, such as the Célia B. Guedj in Lyon. She has also taken part in collective exhibitions and competitions, highlighting the "Fête de la Peinture" in Cerbère (France) and the "Mostra d'Aquarel-la Pinzell d'Or" at the Sala Art 22 in Girona, where she won first prizes, and the watercolor exhibition held in Italy and organized by the Museum of Watercolor in Llançà. Gemma Romero works both in oil and watercolor, with a direct and sincere style of expressionist heritage, where feelings are transferred to the canvas through strong colors and dynamic and expressive brushstrokes.
