Ceferino Olivé captures the interior of a church with his usual mastery of light and atmosphere. The artist trained in Reus with Antoni Fuster, and later furthered his studies in Barcelona, where he worked as a painter, decorator and set designer while attending La Lonja as a disciple of Félix Mestres. In 1931 he joined the Agrupación de Acuarelistas de Cataluña, where he contributed to the renewal and prestige of watercolor. He exhibited individually since 1940 and received awards such as the Fortuny Medal, the National Watercolor Prize and first medals in London and at the National Railway Exhibition. His work is present in Spanish and international collections, including Biarritz, Geneva, New York, London and Moscow.
