Émile Marzé’s style is distinctly textural and gestural. Broad brushstrokes are combined with work done with a palette knife or scraping (sgraffito), visible in the fine, light lines that crisscross the surface. This creates a rich visual texture that gives the canvas an organic and vibrant, almost geological quality.
