DESCRIPTION
JAUME MUXART I DOMÈNECH (Martorell, Barcelona, 1922–Barcelona, 2019).

Signed in the lower right corner.
Measurements: 130 x 89 cm; 133 x 93 cm (frame).
Trained in Barcelona, Paris, and Rome, Muxart has exhibited in Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia, and has been awarded the Torres-García Medal, the Juan Gris Prize, the Medal of Honor at the First Sports Biennial, the Barcelona Provincial Council Award, and the City of Barcelona Award. In 1991, he was elected a member of the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, and he is currently a professor in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. His work is represented in the National Art Museum of Catalonia, the museums of contemporary art in Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico City, and Alexandria, the Fine Arts Museums of Long Island (New York) and Bilbao, the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid, the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and the Lissone Museum in Milan, among many others.
