Salvador Pallás Martínez was a Valencian painter and artist. He primarily focused on landscape, genre painting, still life, and portraiture, although he also devoted several years to religious painting. He was once described as one of the finest Valencian landscape painters.
In 1902, he settled in Valencia, where he began preparing to enter the San Carlos School of Fine Arts; he enrolled the following year, studying under the meticulous and erudite painter Isidoro Garnelo Fillol, a native of Enguer. During his time as a student, he was one of the most outstanding members of his class, both for his grades and for the numerous awards he received. In 1909, while still a student, he participated in the renowned Valencian Regional Exhibition, where he was awarded a Silver Medal in the Art Education section.
He was a member of the Valencian Artistic Youth Association, which was credited above all with bringing together a generation of young artists eager to bring about change and evolve toward a free and independent art form, with the aim of revitalizing the regional cultural scene. From its inception, the Association received vital support from Joaquín Sorolla and all the Valencian artists. One of its primary goals was to secure the construction of a permanent exhibition center in Valencia—the Palace of Arts and Industries—where this artistic community could give voice to its new forms of expression. To raise funds for this cause, several exhibitions were held in which Salvador Pallás participated, notably the Second Exhibition of Valencian Artistic Youth in 1917, where he received the Silver Medal award.
