A self-taught painter, Bosch Roger was one of the founders of the Association of Catalan Artists, as well as a member of the Salon of the Evolutionists. In 1911, he participated in the 6th International Art Fair of Barcelona, and in 1926, he held his first solo exhibition at the Dalmau Galleries. In 1928, he exhibited his work at the Parés Gallery, and again in 1930 at the Layetanas Galleries. Among his awards are the Cambó Prize in the “Barcelona as Seen by Its Artists” competition (1931), organized by the Artistic Circle, and the City of Barcelona Drawing Prize (1968). He participated in the National Fine Arts Exhibitions of 1936, 1941, 1957 (gold medal), and 1960 (third prize). In 1959, the General Directorate of Fine Arts in Madrid dedicated a major retrospective exhibition to him. A preeminent landscape painter, Bosch Roger combines in his work influences from Fauvism, geometric constructivism, and even abstract art, creating scenes that are thoughtfully composed yet marked by color and brushwork—long, gestural, and loose, yet highly controlled. His works are held in the Museums of Contemporary Art in Barcelona and Madrid, the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, the Tossa de Mar Municipal Museum, the La Caixa Foundation collection, and the collection of the National Bank of Colombia.
