Rufo Navarro belongs to the generation of painters from La Mancha who, since the second half of the 20th century, have found in landscape and figurative painting a means of expressing the identity of their homeland. His work is characterized by a deep interest in nature, rural spaces, and everyday scenes, as seen in this piece, through which he develops a visual language in which light, color, and texture take center stage. Although rooted in a faithful observation of reality, his compositions reveal a personal interpretation that combines the rigor of drawing with a loose and expressive brushstroke, lending his landscapes an atmosphere of great sensitivity.
Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in exhibitions, participating in both solo and group shows. Among the most notable is the exhibition *Pinturas 1992–1997*, held at the prestigious Galería Toisón in Madrid. He has also taken part in various exhibitions organized in Castilla-La Mancha, particularly in Tomelloso, where his work has been displayed alongside that of other prominent artists from the region. He has also participated in initiatives linked to the Museo del Paisaje in Priego de Córdoba, a project dedicated to bringing together renowned contemporary Spanish landscape painters.
