Rouger Lezcano Puig approaches abstraction as a realm of atmospheric and material resonances. The composition is built through overlapping layers, light glazes, and incisions that create a vibrant surface, where the brushstroke acts as a mark and the texture as a space of visual depth.

The work combines whitish, bluish, greenish, and pink areas with ochre and gold backgrounds, creating a tension between lightness and density. The scraped areas, crisscrossing lines, and reliefs suggest a non-descriptive landscape—more emotional than physical—in which the material seems to expand like a memory of the surroundings.

Rouger Lezcano Puig is a self-taught Catalan artist, born in 1964. After pursuing his creative work privately for years, his career was launched by the Catalan association Pur Art and the Puro Arte Gallery. His work focuses on contemporary abstraction, with a particular emphasis on gesture, texture, and the visual energy of the pictorial surface.
