Stephen Mumberson is a prominent British artist and printmaker whose career has centered primarily on printmaking and experimentation with printing processes—techniques whose influence is evident in this triptych, where repetition is a dominant feature. He studied Fine Arts at Brighton University, where he earned a BA (Hons) in 1977 and specialized in printmaking the following year; he subsequently completed a master’s degree at the Royal College of Art in London in 1981. Mumberson combines traditional techniques such as woodcut, linocut, lithography, and etching with collage, relief, digital media, and even three-dimensional printing. This ongoing technical exploration has allowed him to develop a unique artistic language that bridges printmaking, drawing, sculpture, and contemporary experimentation.
Throughout her career, she has balanced her artistic practice with significant teaching and research work. He was a Reader in Fine Art Printmaking at Middlesex University and has also participated in international workshops organized by the British Council in countries such as Zambia and Zimbabwe. Mumberson has exhibited internationally, and his work is held in public and private collections in Europe, the United States, China, Japan, and Africa. In 1991, he was elected an Associate of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, and in 1995 he was elevated to the rank of Fellow (RE), a distinction that confirms his prominence within the British printmaking tradition.
