DESCRIPTION

EDUARDO ROLDÁN (Valladolid, 1978).
Untitled.
Oil on paper.
Signed in the lower right corner.
Measurements: 106 x 77 cm; 108,5 x 79 cm (frame).
In this work the author uses an abstract language, based on irregular geometry, with an organic character both in its layout and colors. It is an open style, whose basic characteristic is the conception of the pictorial surface as a whole, as an open field, without limits and without hierarchy. Thus, as we see here, the pictorial forms are the result of a thoughtful composition and experimentation, with an image of gestural character, not limited to a composition but go beyond, indicating to the viewer that it is about forms, ideas or suggestions that go beyond the boundaries of the purely pictorial.
Eduardo Roldán Galván (Valladolid, 1978) is a Spanish author whose career includes journalism, narrative, poetry, theater and screenwriting. He has been awarded the I National Poetry Prize Treciembre and the XIV National Theater Prize José Martín Recuerda.
With a degree in Law, he began his journalistic activity in 2005, collaborating regularly with the newspaper El Norte de Castilla, as well as with its cultural supplement La sombra del ciprés. In these media he has published reviews and articles focused on literature, cinema and jazz. He has also participated in the development of scripts for Radio Television of Castilla y León.
In the literary field, he is the author of the poetry collections Haikus de jazz and El silencio de la piedra, the latter of which was awarded the aforementioned Treciembre Prize. In narrative, he has published the novels Habitación 221, Ámsterdam in fine and Horizonte sumario, the latter within the noir genre. His dramatic production includes the plays Caso Norma, recognized with the José Martín Recuerda Award, La última palabra and Agua turbia, premiered in Madrid in 2017. In addition, he has worked as co-writer of the short film Hermanos, awarded the Roel de Oro at the Medina Film Festival in 2016.
