This work is part of the series Tribute to the Geniuses, in which Terán proposes the return of painting as a symbolic strategy, through tributes to artists he admires. Far from being considered as simple pastiches, these tributes respond to a personal and heterogeneous choice, alien to chronologies or aesthetic categories, in tune with E. Gombrich's idea that there is no art, only artists.
A Chilean artist living in Spain and a graduate in Fine Arts, Manuel Terán develops his work in the field of plastic arts and new technologies applied to art. Since his first participation in the Salón de Otoño del Círculo de Bellas Artes in Santiago de Chile in 1995, he has exhibited in Latin America and Europe, and has been recognized with awards such as the Real Academia de San Carlos de Valencia (2004).
