Representative work of the narrative and ironic universe of Gino Rubert, artist known for integrating intervened photographic images inside pictorial surfaces of meticulous finish. The scene takes place in a landscape of intense chromatism and contained atmosphere, where the apparently everyday acquires a psychological and symbolic dimension.
The sharpness of the contours, the smooth treatment of the color and the precise construction of the space generate a deliberate contrast with the subtle restlessness that emanates from the composition. Under an elegant and playful appearance is articulated a reflection on identity, representation and relational dynamics, constants in the artist's career.
The balance between formal sophistication and narrative ambiguity places the work within Rubert's most recognizable line, characterized by his technical virtuosity and his ability to transform apparently trivial scenes into stories charged with tension and meaning.
A Mexican painter based in Barcelona, Gino Rubert combines his creative work with teaching at the Eina and Massana schools after training at the Parsons School in New York. His work enjoys a wide international projection and is included in prestigious collections such as those of L'Oréal, Banco de España, La Caixa, MNAC and the Antoni Vila Casas Foundation. Throughout his career he has had solo exhibitions in leading centers in Barcelona, New York, Berlin, Tokyo, Frankfurt and Zurich, establishing himself as a key figure in contemporary art today.
