In this work, Terán revisits one of the most iconic images of 20th-century art: Andy Warhol’s *Flowers* (1964). Far from being a mere reproduction, the work is conceived as a dialogue between two eras. The Chilean artist revisits the floral motif that Warhol turned into an icon of contemporary visual culture to reflect on the enduring presence of certain symbols in the collective imagination. Part of the series *Tribute to the Geniuses*, this piece is part of a project dedicated to acknowledging the influence of great masters in art history through a personal reinterpretation. TERÁN maintains the pop spirit of the original composition but incorporates his own pictorial language, in which material, color, and manual execution take center stage, contrasting with Warhol’s hallmarks of mechanical reproduction. The work bridges tradition and the contemporary, inviting the viewer to reconsider the relevance of Pop Art and Andy Warhol’s legacy in an era dominated by a glut of digital images.
Terán is a Chilean visual artist with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Chile who has been based in Spain since 2000. Throughout his career, he has held solo and group exhibitions in Europe and Latin America. His work is included in public and private collections, including that of the Museum of Visual Arts (MAVI) in Santiago, Chile. Among his most notable projects is *Retrato Capital*, begun in 2005, a series dedicated to the contemporary urban landscape that has traveled to numerous Spanish cities. More recently, he has developed the series *Tribute to the Geniuses*.
