“The Dance with the Giraffe” is part of the series *Después de Miró* (After Miró), a body of work in which Lemagne’83 revisits Joan Miró’s legacy through a contemporary sensibility and his own imagination. The work is structured around a vocabulary of signs, geometric shapes, and biomorphic elements that evoke Miró’s universe, but are here reorganized with a more open and playful narrative.

The composition features a deliberately flat space, structured through an intense chromatic gradation. Against this background are distributed stars, eyes, oval shapes, linear signs, and schematic plant motifs, all defined by black lines of great graphic clarity. The alternation between empty spaces and intense chromatic accents lends the surface a carefully measured rhythm, capable of simultaneously sustaining order and associative freedom. The title introduces a poetic and fable-like dimension, in keeping with an artistic practice that prioritizes evocation, visual play, and the image’s capacity to elicit non-literal associations.

Enrique Lemagne Cárdenas, “Lemagne’83,” holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociocultural Studies from the University of Camagüey, Cuba (2012), and furthered his training with photography courses at ICRT TV Camagüey in 2013. His work lies at the intersection of symbolic figuration, surrealism, and abstraction, with a particular focus on the sign, color, and the poetic dimension of the image. Notable among his recent exhibitions are the February Exhibition at Thomson Gallery, Zug, Switzerland (2025); the BIARCO Contemporary Art Biennial in Armenia, Colombia (2024); “Plural” at Vearte Gallery, Alicante (2024); and the Small Paintings Exhibition organized by the Alicante Artists’ Association (2024).
