This work features a vibrant, geometric artistic style strongly reminiscent of Joan Miró’s surrealist and simplified aesthetic, combined with elements of African folk art and tribal iconography. The composition is characterized by the use of a flat, symbolic visual language, in which stylized human figures, schematic architectural structures, and celestial motifs such as suns and eyes are arranged rhythmically against a linear gradient background that transitions from intense orange to deep blue. The compositional approach is “horror vacui,” filling the space with organic and geometric forms that create a playful and enigmatic visual narrative. The color palette is bold and primary, highlighting the use of strong hallmarks between solid blacks and bright hues such as yellow, red, and blue, which reinforces a sense of graphic modernism.
Lemagne’83’s work ranges from the surreal to the poetic, flirting with the metaphysics present in the abstraction of the 20th-century avant-garde. He fuses styles, techniques, and concepts to create a unique visual universe. “Lemagne’83” holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociocultural Studies from the University of Camagüey, Cuba (2012), and furthered his education with photography courses at ICRT TV Camagüey in 2013. His work lies at the intersection of symbolic figuration, surrealism, and abstraction, with a particular focus on the sign, color, and the metaphysical dimension of the historical avant-garde movements. Notable among his recent exhibitions are the February Exhibition at Thomson Gallery, Zug, Switzerland (2025); the BIARCO Contemporary Art Biennial in Armenia, Colombia (2024); “Plural” at Vearte Gallery, Alicante (2024); and the Mini-Paintings Exhibition organized by the Alicante Artists’ Association (2024).
