In this work, Xavier Rodríguez Navinès once again draws on a photorealistic image to transform an intimate, everyday scene into a composition of remarkable visual intensity. The bird’s-eye view, with the submerged feet occupying the foreground and the large white flower suspended above the water, creates an immediate perspective that places the viewer practically in the artist’s own position. The hallmarks of the meticulous rendering of the feet and the almost ethereal luminosity of the flower structure an image in which realism and strangeness coexist naturally.

Xavier Rodríguez Navinès has been active as an artist since the mid-1990s in the fields of painting, illustration, and sculpture. He trained with Joan Capella and later at the Escola Joso and the Escola d’Arts Aplicades i Oficis Artístics Llotja in Barcelona, in addition to becoming involved with the Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc. His career includes exhibitions, competitions, and various artistic projects carried out both in Catalonia and outside of Spain.
