The river landscape is one of the settings where Enric Rubió Serra most clearly demonstrates his technical mastery, particularly in his treatment of light and reflections. In this view of the Ter River, the vast expanse of water takes on a prominence nearly equal to that of the landscape, chromatically duplicating and transforming the vegetation along the banks.

The composition is built through a deep and balanced perspective, guided by the river’s course toward the background. In contrast to the precision with which the trees, rocks, and vegetation are rendered, the water’s surface allows for a freer brushstroke, particularly evident in the ripples that break up the reflections into shades of green, ochre, and blue. The result combines a meticulous observation of nature with a special sensitivity for capturing changes in light and atmosphere.

Enric Rubió Serra graduated with a degree in Applied Arts and Artistic Crafts, specializing in Painting and Mural Projects, in Olot, and later completed his training at the Accademia Statale di Belle Arti in Frosinone, Italy. Director and professor at the School of Fine Arts in Villa de Anglès, he has exhibited in galleries in Spain, France, and the United States. His dedication to landscape painting has been recognized with various international awards, including an Honorable Mention for best landscape at the Val d’Or International Salon and first prizes at the international salons in Prades and Château de Valmy.
