BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

IÑIGO NAVARRO (Madrid, 1977).
Untitled.
Oil on canvas.
Signed in the lower section.
Measurements: 46 x 38 cm.
The composition juxtaposes a child figure dressed in a uniform with a dark, monumental presence, creating an interplay of light, shadow, and circular forms that lends the work an almost dreamlike quality. The loose, textural brushwork, combined with a palette dominated by grays, blacks, and blues, reveals a contemporary pictorial language with a strong atmospheric quality. The work invites an open interpretation, where the narrative and the symbolic merge.
Íñigo Navarro (Madrid, 1977) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, photography, and video art. Trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid, he later expanded his education through residencies funded by the Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation and the El Escorial Summer Courses. His career has unfolded both in Spain and internationally, with participation in exhibitions at venues such as The Art League at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria (U.S.), the Casa do Brasil in Madrid, the Al Paso International Art Fair in Bogotá, and various galleries and cultural centers. In 2004, she received the Purificación García Photography Award, a recognition that solidified her exploration of the image and its expressive possibilities.
Her work is characterized by a dialogue between different languages and a constant exploration of perception, memory, and the limits of representation. In 2025, she presented *Yesterday a Tiger Stepped on Your Shadow* at the Lázaro Galdiano Museum in Madrid, her first institutional exhibition in Spain, reaffirming her position within the Spanish contemporary art scene.
