IÑIGO NAVARRO (Madrid, 1977).
Untitled.
Oil on canvas.

Measurements: 35 x 27 cm.
The work depicts a northern kingfisher holding a butterfly in its beak, combining precision in the depiction of the animal with an atmosphere characteristic of the artist’s work. The scene stands out for the contrast between the bird’s presence and the butterfly’s fragility, as well as for the attention to detail and the rendering of the natural setting.Beyond its figurative nature, the composition incorporates a certain nostalgic and mysterious atmosphere, which sets the work apart from a strictly naturalistic representation.
Íñigo Navarro (Madrid, 1977) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, photography, and video art. After studying at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid, he later furthered his education through residencies funded by the Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation and the El Escorial Summer Courses. His career has unfolded both in Spain and internationally, with participation in exhibitions at venues such as The Art League at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria (U.S.), the Casa do Brasil in Madrid, the Salón Internacional de Arte Al Paso in Bogotá, and various galleries and cultural centers. In 2004, she received the Purificación García Photography Prize, an honor that solidified her exploration of the image and its expressive possibilities.
Her work is characterized by a dialogue between different artistic languages and by a constant exploration of perception, memory, and the limits of representation. In 2025, she presented *Yesterday a Tiger Stepped on Your Shadow* at the Lázaro Galdiano Museum in Madrid, her first institutional exhibition in Spain, reaffirming her position within the Spanish contemporary art scene.
