BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
CESARE MARINAI coffee set. Milan, 20th century.
In 800 silver and bone.
With contrasts.
Measurements: between 17 and 29 cm in height; 35 cm (tray diameter).
This coffee set consists of four pieces (teapot, coffee pot, milk pot and sugar bowl), plus the tray. All have neoclassical forms with gadrooned bands, as well as ivory handles. The milk jug, coffee pot and sugar bowl all have a lid, also with a gadrooned band, topped with pine cones. The tray has a profile that, to match the rest of the pieces, includes a grooved motif. The whole set was made by the Italian silversmith Cesare Marinai, whose silversmith factory was founded in Milan in 1908.
