The piece presents a refined openwork design on the rim, where an ornamental repertoire based on vegetal motifs is displayed. In the center, the surface has been carefully engraved by hand with floral and foliate compositions, whose delicate lines reveal a remarkable technical skill and a deep aesthetic sense. The structure is raised on three decorative legs, bringing visual balance and functionality to the whole.
This type of work is part of the outstanding tradition of Portuguese silversmithing, historically recognized for its technical virtuosity and its ability to integrate diverse stylistic influences. From the Manueline period to the Baroque and Neoclassical expressions, Portuguese silversmiths have developed a rich and distinctive ornamental language.
