Set of twenty-two collection boxes of different typology, format and chronology, mostly made of silver. The lot includes small pieces for various uses, such as pill boxes, matchboxes, coin boxes, tobacco cases and cases.
The decorative variety stands out, with embossed, chiseled, engraved and decorated boxes with figurative scenes, floral motifs, rocailles, garlands and historicist-inspired compositions. Some pieces incorporate enamels with gallant scenes or landscapes, as well as mother-of-pearl applications or coatings, which add material richness and chromatic contrast to the lot.
This type of objects, conceived both for everyday use and for personal display, became very popular between the 19th and early 20th centuries, especially in the field of travel, desk and dressing table accessories.
