The intricate geometric motif reproduces the Mozarabic interlacing patterns inspired by the decoration of the famous Beatus of Liébana, specifically the 10th-century copy created for Ferdinand I and Doña Sancha by the scribe Facundo, establishing an elegant link between fine calligraphy and Spain’s medieval artistic heritage.
