Hermès Cape Cod

HERMÈS Cape Cod watch, ref. CC1.210, serial no. 23223XX, lady.
Stainless steel case. Square beige dial with Arabic numerals. Baton type hands. Sapphire crystal. Fluted crown at 3 o'clock. Brown leather bracelet with buckle clasp, both original Hermès. Quartz movement. It works.
Measurements: 33 x 25 mm (total case with crown).

It was in 1991 when Hermés asked Henri d'Origny to create a square watch, but he had a personal preference for rectangles. Consequently, Cape Cod turned out to be a square watch in a rectangle, with a case shape and brand font inspired by the Chaîne d'ancre motif. The double strap, created for the Maison by Martin Margiela in 1998, propelled this bold creation to iconic status in the watch industry.
