DESCRIPTION
ROLEX Oyster Perpetual Datejust watch.
Yellow Rolesor—a combination of Oystersteel and yellow gold. Oyster case. Silver dial with diamonds set in gold chatons. Fluted bezel, a hallmark of Rolex. Baton-style hands with a central seconds hand. Screw-down crown with Twinlock double waterproofing system. Sapphire crystal. Jubilee bracelet with Rolex folding clasp. Automatic movement. It works. Measurements: 36 mm (case diameter).
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 mm is historically significant because it brings together two of the innovations that defined modern watchmaking and gave rise to Rolex’s identity: the Oyster case, introduced in 1926 as one of the first truly water- and dust-resistant wristwatch cases, and the Perpetual movement, introduced in 1931 with a bidirectional automatic winding rotor that revolutionized the way watches are powered. The Oyster Perpetual preserves that essence in its purest form, without complications such as a date or chronograph, making it the direct heir to Rolex’s original concept and a benchmark for the elegant sports watch for everyday wear, admired for its reliability, durability, and timeless design for nearly a century.
In the watch descriptions, when a watch is listed as “it works,” it means the watch is functioning. Since collector’s watches typically have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general servicing, inspection, battery replacement, adjustment, or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. All photographs of our watches are original and have been taken by our photographers; in other words, we do not use stock photography, which is why the photographs are considered part of the listing.
