The Seamaster Professional is an iconic high-end diving watch, world-renowned for its wave-patterned dial and for being James Bond’s constant companion. Its crown at the 10 o’clock position is a helium escape valve that allows for the safe release of helium atoms accumulated inside the watch during deep professional dives. Although it is not necessary to operate it in everyday use, it prevents internal pressure from shattering the crystal upon ascent to the surface. Today, it remains both an aesthetic hallmark and a testament to the technical prowess of Omega’s engineering.
When the description of a watch states “it works,” it means the watch is functioning. Since collector’s watches typically have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general servicing, inspection, battery replacement, adjustment, or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. All photographs of our watches are original and have been taken by our photographers; in other words, we do not use stock photography, which is why the photographs are considered part of the listing.
