Antoni Vidal Rolland was a Catalan painter and sculptor trained at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, where he studied under José Ruiz Blasco—Pablo Picasso’s father—and Aleix Clapés at the Llotja School. He began his artistic career as a sculptor, although he later devoted himself primarily to painting. He participated in the 6th International Art Exhibition of Barcelona in 1911 and, beginning in 1928, began holding solo exhibitions at the Gaspar and Augusta galleries in Barcelona. He also participated in numerous national exhibitions and competitions, including the National Fine Arts Exhibitions in Madrid in 1943, 1944, 1950, and 1954. In 1933, he won the Female Nude Competition Prize from the Barcelona Artistic Circle. His work is characterized by a figurative style rooted in academic and realist traditions, with a particular focus on still lifes, female nudes, and figure studies. Her work is represented in the collections of the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) and the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC).
