Here, Jesús Faura creates an evocative composition in which the child’s figure is integrated into a universe of dreamlike resonances. The chromatic intensity of the goldfish contrasts with the bluish tones of the background, rendered with loose, expressive brushstrokes. The child’s contemplative expression introduces an introspective dimension, while the coexistence of the human figure and aquatic elements suggests an imaginary space where reality, fantasy, and childhood memories converge.

Alejandro Faura is a Cuban painter who trained at the Las Tunas Professional School of Art (1989–1993). His work is characterized by figurative painting with strong symbolic and emotional resonance, in which he combines a solid approach to portraiture with narrative elements that suggest poetic and psychological interpretations. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Cuba, including the Impresión, Fayad Jamis, Toulouse Lautrec, and Guernica shows at the Las Tunas Provincial Art Center, as well as exhibitions organized by the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC). His work has also been presented internationally in exhibitions such as “Alma de Cuba” (Asso, Italy, 2007) and in shows featuring contemporary Cuban art in Italy. Notable among his solo exhibitions are “Síntesis” at the Guillermo Nogueira Gallery (Las Tunas, 1989) and “Voces del Silencio” at the gallery of the Union of Cuban Journalists (2003). In 2024, he presented a two-artist exhibition at the Palazzo Corina in Pieve (Italy). He has received various awards and honors, including prizes at the Salón Impresión (1988) and the Salón Toulouse Lautrec (1992), as well as an honorable mention at the Salón La Plástica en Abril (2006). His work is part of private collections in Europe and the United States, and the artist has also created murals in Cuba and Germany.
