Valeria Pesce studied graphic design in Cagliari and New York, later living in Milan before moving to Barcelona in 1991, where she currently lives and works. Self-taught, she primarily uses oil and acrylic. Fascinated by the vital energy that stirs bodies and stirs the consciousness, Valeria Pesce traces every sign of life through the fragmentary: physical (dreamy eyes, fleeting smiles, pregnant bellies...), plant-based (details of poppies, peonies, tulips...), or aquatic. Even in those series where the artist seems to set aside her interest in capturing the flow of life—such as those based on film stills— Pesce delves into the inner currents of consciousness, a quality underscored by selective blurring and a palette whose tonal hallmarks convey emotional nuances. A style that is both realistic and dreamlike, where nothing remains the same from one second to the next—everything flows and transforms. She has exhibited in Spain, Italy, France, England, Germany, and Slovenia. Her works are in private collections in Germany, the United States, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, England, New Zealand, Mexico, Japan, and Hong Kong.
