A unique modular sideboard-shelf unit with a futuristic aesthetic, designed in 1970s Europe as part of the Space Age movement, which brought the fascination with space exploration, technology, and new materials into home design. Its geometric structure, assembled using chrome-plated metal tubing and black plastic spherical joints, forms a composition with a distinctly architectural character, visually lightened by the clear glass shelves.
The combination of reflective surfaces, transparency, and geometric shapes gives the piece a sculptural presence, in which functionality is integrated with a decidedly futuristic aesthetic. The built-in lighting accentuates its theatrical quality and highlights the structure’s volumes and reflections, making the piece a focal point of the space.
Representative of the formal and material experimentation that characterized European design in the 1970s, this piece serves a dual purpose as a sideboard and bookcase, and can also be used as a display cabinet or a focal point in contemporary interiors and vintage-inspired settings.
