DESCRIPTION
HERMÈS.
Le Géographe scarf, designed by Sandra Laroche.
Made of 100% jacquard silk, featuring a print of cartographic motifs, flora, fauna, and historical figures in shades of light orange, brown, gray, and gold. It features raised woven motifs of anchors and kangaroos.
In excellent condition, with slight signs of wear.
Measurements: 90 x 90 cm.
Designed by Sandra Laroche and first introduced in 1992, Le Géographe pays homage to the French scientific expeditions to Australia in the early 19th century, particularly the one led by Nicolas Baudin aboard the ship that gives the scarf its name. Its elaborate composition brings together maps, navigational instruments, portraits of explorers, and Australian wildlife. The richness of its imagery and the uniqueness of the jacquard weave make this design particularly noteworthy among Hermès’s historic scarves.
